New Candidate
Mark Schaedel, CEO | Mark Bird, Co-Founder
We consider ourselves part of the exchange constituency rather than vendor. We believe that the market data business processes have not kept pace with the changes in our broader industry nor with the changes, diversity and scale of data consumption methods.
Mark Schaedel and Mark Bird worked together at NYSE where we were fortunate to have the resources to apply fit-for-purpose technology after fail attempts to “stretch” generic enterprise systems to support the idiosyncratic business processes of market data administration. Schaedel developed products and commercial policies, Bird developed reporting and compliance tools to support the implementation of policies. Bird spent his early career with TCBdata and is an expert in vendor reporting and compliance. More recently, Bird has contributed to the formation of a digital rights management standard for market data.
Schaedel and Bird share a vision for the future of data commercialization and the significance of cloud-native technology and digital rights management.
Our interest in FISD is to encourage innovation and demystify the challenges of market data licensing administration. We (DataBP) are also pursuing the role of independent consolidated tape administrator in both the US and Europe for the same reason.
