WFIC Recap

FISD welcomed 632 delegates to WFIC 2022 in Prague. This was an all-time record, with delegates attending networking activities, workshops, panels and presentations over the course of 3 very busy days. Thank you to the WFIC Program Planning Committee, WFIC Sponsors, especially Platinum Sponsor Deutsche Boerse and Host Sponsor LSEG Refinitiv, speakers and participants who brought WFIC roaring back after its Covid-induced hiatus!

Debra Walton Wins FISD Lifetime Achievement Award

Debra Walton was presented with the FISD Lifetime Achievement Award on October 17th at the World Financial Information Conference in Prague. The award recognizes an individual who has contributed to the major developments and accomplishments of the financial information industry over the past 25 years. Patti Sachs and Georg Gross were also nominated. Past winners Frank Piasecki, Barry Raskin and Sara Banerjee also attended.

FISD Executive Committee Elections—Nominations Accepted until Dec. 2nd

All FISD members are invited to nominate candidates to fill 12 positions on the FISD Executive Committee (EC) for two-year terms which begin in January 2023. Positions are open for representatives in each of the three FISD constituency areas: exchanges, vendors (data, software, hardware, services), and consumer firms. View the current EC list.

Please submit one nomination for your company with the campaign statements for both executives who will be representing your firm. Nominations will be accepted until December 2, then voting will commence on December 5. Please contact Tracey Shumpert if you have any questions.

November gets busy as we head into the holidays with travel schedules and time off– that’s why FISD is adding webinars you can watch from anywhere to the schedule this month. Join us Nov. 10 for a webinar on data catalogs and Nov. 15 for a lesson on communicating the business case for DEI.

Singapore Event

We’d like to make you aware of the FISD in-person meeting in Singapore on Nov 10th! Hosted by our friends at SGX, FISD has a great program lined up with discussions on the complexities of market data entitlements over cloud applications, and Sustainability Financing – how E,S and G data is helping connect capital with climate transition projects. There will be speakers from cloud service providers, EDM providers, sustainability data providers and the buy/sell sides. There will also be announcements from CME, AsiaNext (the SDX/SBI Joint Venture) and OptionsIT for new products and services.
