Suzie is director of talent & culture for EMEA. She leads a team, overseeing talent & culture across the EMEA region, which comprises eleven European offices, South Africa and Dubai. Suzie joined Morningstar in 2011 as HR business partner and held a couple of different positions in HR before assuming the role of director of talent & culture in 2016. Before joining Morningstar, Suzie worked for parliament and Financial Times.
Sales Manager, Morningstar UK
Mia Goss is a sales manager for Morningstar UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. She covers data, research and software solutions for a diverse range of institutional clients. Prior to joining Morningstar in 2016, Mia had a graduate role at Aon Insurance in Melbourne before moving to London and working for a derivatives boutique owned by Deutsche Börse in a client management role. Mia holds a bachelor of Economics and a bachelor of International Studies from Deakin University where she also completed a diploma of Arabic language. In 2019 Mia completed the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and she is currently studying for the CFA’s certificate in ESG Investing.
Head of International Marketing, Morningstar Inc.
Nicola Harley leads the marketing effort for Morningstar across EMEA. Heading a team of marketing professionals, she works with the creative, events and regional marketing teams to create and deliver successful marketing strategies and programs for key client segments.
Joining Morningstar in 2011 as UK Institutional Marketing Director, Nicola had a focus on increasing Morningstar’s engagement with institutional clients. She previously served with 3i Infotech, one of India’s top IT companies, as head of marketing for Europe. Nicola established the marketing function for London-based Rhyme Systems, which was acquired by 3i Infotech in 2006.
Nicola has 18 years of experience in marketing in the financial services and fintech sector. She has managed teams for over 15 years, been a member of a geography operational board and responsible for a pan-European marketing budget.
Nicola holds a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Joint European Business Administration from the University of Wolverhampton. She also holds a HEAO Diploma, Economics and Marketing, from Hogeschool Inholland, Amsterdam.
Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Brewin Dolphin
Caroline Lake has been a member of the Women in Finance Board since August 2019 and represents the Asset Management & Investment sector. She will talk to us about the work that led to the introduction of the Charter, its key goals, progress to date and the role of the Board in supporting signatory firms to achieve and stretch their targets.
Caroline has worked at Brewin Dolphin for 15 years. In her role as Head of Diversity & Inclusion she leads on creating and delivering their D&I and Employee Wellbeing strategies.
Caroline is also a Trustee of the charity, Exeter Community Initiatives, which helps people get their lives back on track and overcome the impact of experiences like inequality, poverty and homelessness.
Director of Product Strategy, EMEA, Morningstar Europe
Cathy McEwing and has over 20 years of experience in the financial research and data industry and is the Director of Product Strategy, EMEA for Morningstar Europe. In this role Cathy is responsible for ensuring the optimal execution of go-to-market, sales enablement and market insight initiatives across the region. In her 10+ years with Morningstar, Cathy initially headed the Morningstar Investor Relations business (sold to in 2013) and subsequently, was the Director of Deal Management, EMEA. Cathy is actively involved in Morningstar’s mentoring programme and the Morningstar “green team”.
Before joining Morningstar, Cathy was the European head of content and project management for Alacra, a US-based content technology company, from 2006-2008. From 2003-2006, Cathy headed historical data products at the London Stock Exchange. Additionally, Cathy has 12 years of investor relations experience working for Thomson Reuters (now Refinitive) and Georgeson in both London and New York, primarily focused on delivering online IR applications and software.
Cathy has an MBA from New York University and a Bachelors degree in Finance from Loyola University, Baltimore.
Vice President of Membership and Programs, FISD
Tracey Shumpert is Vice President of Membership and Progams at FISD, where she seeks to constantly improve the FISD member experience and to broaden the FISD community. She is the program manger for the World Financial Information Conference, the Alternative Data Council, Lunch & Learn and Women’s Group activities.
Prior to FISD Tracey was senior events manager at FIX Trading Community and before that, she held various roles at Bloomberg. Tracey holds a BA in Comparative Literature at Smith College and an MA in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University.
