A technical leader with a long track record of success delivering trustworthy results in lean bleeding edge startups, Sarah brings extensive experience building effective, high- performance teams and executing successful go to market strategies. At Sequentum, Sarah has prioritized the work of defining compliance standards for web scraping and has engaged stakeholders from across the industry to publish written standards and best practices for this evolving marketplace and for Sequentum’s offerings. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and has enjoyed a 20 year career in NYC’s Silicon Alley shepherding tech startups to proven market fit and beyond.
Norman Niemer
Chief Data Scientist, UBS Asset Management, QED
Norman Niemer is the Chief Data Scientist within UBS Asset Management’s Quant & Data Science (QED) team where he delivers data-driven investment insights. He is also responsible for both the business as well as technical aspects of multiple innovation projects that augment human decision makers with machine intelligence. Prior to UBS Asset Management, Norman led the data science efforts at UBS O’Connor, worked as an investment analyst at Caxton Associates and Morgan Stanley and even founded a tech company in high school. Outside of investment management, he has led teams that built data- and AI-based products that won several high profile hackathons including Techcrunch NY, Fintech NY and Mastercard Masters of Code NY. He holds a MS Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Banking and Finance from Cass Business School (London).
David Pope
Managing Director of Quantamental Research , S&P Global Market Intelligence
David S. Pope, CFA, also known as Dave, is the Managing Director of Quantamental Research at S&P Global Market Intelligence, Research Division. He also teaches graduate and undergraduate classes as an Adjunct Professor of Finance at Bentley University.
Most recently, Mr. Pope was an Associate Partner and Vice President at Wellington Management Company LLC, where he constructed quantitative stock selection models and managed international equity portfolios. Prior to working at Wellington, Mr. Pope was a Vice President and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Colonial Management Associates, where he conducted quantitative research and managed four open-end, municipal mutual funds. Mr. Pope began his investment career at Fidelity Management and Research in 1993 as a Fixed Income Quantitative Portfolio Analyst in the municipal bond group. He is an investment professional with over 17 years of experience conducting quantitative research, and managing both equity and fixed income portfolios. Mr. Pope is a CFA charterholder. He received his MSF from Boston College, and BS in Finance from Bentley College.
Elizabeth Pritchard
Founder , White Rock Data Solutions LLC
Elizabeth is Founder of White Rock Data Solutions LLC a consulting firm providing innovative solutions for managing and commercializing data. In 1996, Elizabeth joined Goldman Sachs and held leadership roles across Sales and Trading, Compliance, Middle Office and Treasury for nearly two decades, delivering impact through people, process, data and technology. Elizabeth developed the strategy for and built the first Supervisory Control Function on Wall Street. As Managing Director of the Global Market Data Services team, Elizabeth adopted new data sources and applied data science to vendor content and usage to drive expense efficiencies and developed the firm’s strategy for a centralized data cloud for external content. Elizabeth collaborated with data vendors and principal investing in strategic deals. In 2015, Elizabeth joined AIG as Chief Operating Officer, Science. She was responsible for ensuring improved business outcomes in customer experience, underwriting, and claims.
In 2017, Elizabeth became a founding executive at Crux Informatics, a startup reinventing data delivery in finance. While there, Elizabeth was responsible for Marketing, Sales, and Supplier Partnerships. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and MBA from Columbia University.
Tracey Shumpert
Vice President of Membership and Programs, FISD
Tracey Shumpert is Vice President of Membership and Progams at FISD, where she seeks to constantly improve the FISD member experience and to broaden the FISD community. She is the program manger for the World Financial Information Conference, the Alternative Data Council, Lunch & Learn and Women’s Group activities.
Prior to FISD Tracey was senior events manager at FIX Trading Community and before that, she held various roles at Bloomberg. Tracey holds a BA in Comparative Literature at Smith College and an MA in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University.
Ednaldo Silva
Founder and Director, RoyaltyStat
Ednaldo Silva has a PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley and was the first senior economic adviser at the Internal Revenue Service Office of Chief Counsel in Washington DC, a drafting member of the 1994 US transfer pricing regulations and the first economist in the Advance Pricing Agreement programme. Dr Silva introduced the comparable profits method’ and the ‘best method’ rule and is a recognised international expert on transfer pricing and intangibles valuation. His practice includes serving as senior tax economist and consultant for large multinational corporations and economic expert on corporate income tax and IP litigations, including in GlaxoSmithKline Holdings (Americas), Inc v Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Dockets 5750-04 and 6959-05.
Shruti Thaker
Global Data Manager , Pendal Group
Shruti Thaker is the Global Data Manager for Pendal Group where she is working to develop and implement a new data strategy for the group. Ms Thaker has a long history in the finance sector, having previously headed up CRM and Corporate Access technologies for Citigroup Institutional Equities. Where Shruti created a new Corporate Access system and implementing many of the MiFID II changes required. While at Citigroup, she also lead a cross industry group of individuals in creating industry wide standards for MiFID II reporting.
Ms Thaker’s latest role was at BlackRock, where she was head of Alpha Capture and vendor data for Active Equities, focusing on alternative data.
Outside of work, Shruti is on the board of directors for Grace Institute, a non-profit in New York which aims to improve the lives of women through training and job placements.
