Managing Director, FISD
Tom Davin is Managing Director, Financial Information Services Association (FISD) of the SIIA. FISD is the global, neutral forum for the financial information industry with a diverse membership that includes major market data vendors, exchanges, technology providers, and the financial institutions that utilize financial data products. Tom works closely with FISD members to identify major issues and seek opportunities to bring the financial information industry together to discuss and resolve those issues. FISD conducts regular membership events in North America, Europe, Asia, Brazil, and Australia and hosts the biennial World Financial Information Conference – the premiere global industry conference for financial information professionals.
Stephen Dorrian
Director, European Market Data, Cboe Europe
Stephen is the Director of European Market Data for Cboe Global Markets, one of the world’s largest exchange holding companies. Stephen is based in London and is responsible for the commercial management of Cboe Europe’s market data business, including sales, pricing, strategy and data policy. Prior to joining Cboe, Stephen held positions at various exchange, consumer and vendor firms giving him a well-rounded view of the industry.
Chris Lloyd
Head of the Professional Information Business and Head of Operational Strategy, Dow Jones
Chris Lloyd is Head of the Professional Information Business and Head of Operational Strategy for Dow Jones. He oversees the strategic direction of established products like Factiva, Dow Jones Newswires and Risk & Compliance, as well as developing new customer-focused products that complement this suite while also working across Dow Jones on company-wide initiatives. Prior to joining Dow Jones in 2014, Chris worked in various operations roles for News Corp and News UK (formerly News International) where he worked on significant change programs, chiefly focusing on improving editorial and digital systems plus integration. His earlier career was spent at the UK-based Telegraph Media Group where, having spent 12 years running various advertising and commercial departments, he was asked to switch across to the Newsroom to become Deputy Managing Editor – a role he held until his departure in 2010.
Dan Smith
SVP Strategy, Dow Jones
Dan Smith is SVP of Strategy at Dow Jones where he is primarily responsible for M&A. Prior to that role, Dan was the Head of Commercial Policy and Pricing at Dow Jones where he managed commercial strategy across Dow Jones, with a particular focus on solutions and pricing for corporate customers and partners. Dan was previously Head of the Dow Jones Professional Information Business where he was responsible for all of the Dow Jones B2B solutions including Factiva, Dow Jones Newswires, Risk and Compliance and Venture Source.
Prior to that, Dan was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Factiva. Dan’s legal career started at Hogan Lovells in London, where he was a solicitor advising within the corporate and commercial department. He has practiced law in London, Hong Kong and the US. Dan has an MA in Law from Oxford University and is dual qualified, being a solicitor of England and Wales and admitted to the New York bar.
James Watson
Global Head of Sales, Tradition Data
James Watson is the Global Head of Sales for the Tradition Market Data Group. With over 30 years’ experience in the financial industry, he has held senior roles across a wide range of companies, most recently as CEO of ADS Securities in London. Previously, he was head of the EMEA FX Transactions business and head of FXall EMEA at Thomson Reuters. Prior to that, he held senior sales management positions at GFI Fenics. He was also involved with equity sales at Morgan Stanley, Societe Generale and Lehman Brothers. Having worked in Asia, USA and Europe, James has a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of various regions and countries. James continually strives for positive change in all of his roles. His current project is aimed at influencing change in the market data business, as well as growing TraditionDATA into a major data provider of OTC products and analytics. James sits on two boards and is an active advisor and mentor to young entrepreneurs in disruptive technology businesses. James grew up in Australia, is married with three children and lives in Kent, England.
