FISD is the global forum of the financial information industry and a division of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA). With 300 member firms — from global exchanges to cutting-edge fintech startups — we serve as the preeminent association connecting the people, technology, and standards behind market data and produce the biennial World Financial Information Conference (WFIC), the premiere global market data conference.

Reporting to the Managing Director, FISD, the Content Development Director is responsible for enhancing the quality, timeliness, and relevance of FISD content for its 30+ industry events around the world and other member-focused communication products. The Director monitors the broad financial services and market data industries to identify and develop relevant event content and keep the FISD team abreast of the latest developments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies industry trends, event themes, and speaker talent across geographies and coordinates with FISD program managers to optimize event programs. Develops marketing language and discussion outlines for prospective sessions as needed.
  • Monitors delegate feedback on events to identify program needs and opportunities.
  • Produces content for local events in conjunction with program managers.
  • Creates events or provides support to regional program managers to launch events in new markets.
  • World Financial Information Conference (WFIC) – biennial global event
    • Identifies, recruits, and convenes the members of the WFIC Program Working Group and, with collaboration with the Working Group, and the Vice President of Membership & Programs, creates the WFIC event program.
    • Writes panel description and liaises with FISD Communication Manager to publish content on the program web site.
    • Identifies speakers, coordinates invitations via program managers, and ensures optimal sponsor assignments.
    • Assists with other WFIC tasks as needed.
  • Develops expertise in multiple subject areas as a resource for teammates and members
  • Manages quarterly content development process with regional and global program directors.
  • Handles administration of event content development globally including tracking document for local events and global sponsor score card.
  • Identifies event topics and speaking opportunities for underserved sponsors and members.
  • Runs weekly Events Meeting.
  • Reviews, maintains, and promotes speaker database.
  • Promotes consistency across local event services globally.
  • Based on subject matter expertise, identifies sales opportunities for ad-hoc sponsorships.
  • Identifies opportunities for FISD-sponsored print or online content, e.g., research or thought-leadership products that could be developed by FISD or a contractor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or least eight years business experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders, solve problems and schedule work effectively
  • Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Regular travel domestically and internationally

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep knowledge of topics relevant to financial information
  • Extensive contacts across the global financial information industry
  • CRM experience
  • Project management experience
