Join us for a conversation with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Deputy Division Chief Chris Walker regarding U.S. and global economic prospects in the wake of the Covid-19 crisis.

Walker will provide data on economic forecasts for the U.S., EU, Japan, China and elsewhere, as well as IMF estimates for economic contraction in 2020 and a possible return to growth in 2021. Mr. Walker will explain the assumptions behind those estimates and discuss factors that could impact positively or negatively those projections. Finally, Mr. Walker will provide information on IMF views regarding how assuming additional debt in the short-term will have to be addressed in the medium to long-term.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 189 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world. Created in 1945, the IMF is governed by and accountable to the 189 countries that make up its near-global membership
