Wednesday, October 6

Presentation

This event is open to members only.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Tracey Shumpert.

FISD takes COVID-19 very seriously. We encourage attendees to be fully vaccinated before attending and request the wearing of masks when seated in the auditorium listening to speakers. We will be setting seating out so that there is robust distance between seats.  FISD will comply with local and national government rules – and the rules/policies of the venue.

We are researching how best to operate the Networking element of this event to create an environment that enables a high degree of individual choice, respecting that people have understandably different views on risk. Look Who’s Coming

Changing Channel – spoilt for choice with flexible access

Data is delivered and accessed - two sides of the same market data coin. A provider must consider how best to get data to customers, and customers need to consider all the different data sources available to them – coupled with different ways of getting access to that data. It is even more complex than that – one customer may have different users and/or different use cases for the same data from a chosen provider, and those different scenarios may require a different mode of access. Direct or Indirect (e.g., via an aggregator) is one choice; programmatic versus human interaction is another; latency is yet another parameter …and so the choices go on. This issue has two further dimensions – one is all about technology /logistics and the other is about commercials e.g., licensing and pricing.
