Gavin Carey
Head of Enterprise Proposition Management, EMEA & Historical, Thomson Reuters
As Head of Proposition Management for Thomson Reuters Enterprise, EMEA, Gavin combines a Computer Science background and 19 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
Gavin graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea with a BSc (1st Class Hons) in Computer Science. Following this he took up a software engineering position in real-time market data collection, working as part of a small team delivering the market data infrastructure for DataStream/ICV (from a barn outside Cambridge!).
In the years since, Gavin’s career path has been determined by his knack for identifying and subsequently resolving problems or inefficiencies; along the way this has meant shaping the Elektron Feeds and Historical Data businesses at Thomson Reuters, and prior to that at DataStream/ICV, Primark, and Thomson Financial.
Away from the office, Gavin enjoys pretty much anything involving the water (in particular scuba-diving and sailing), photographing the world, and spending time with his young family.

Conor Sheehan
Market Data Regional Manager, Capital Group Research Inc
Conor Sheehan has been at Capital Group based in London for the past 11 years and is currently Market Data Regional Manager. Conor is also responsible for global product support at Capital Group with a focus on market data product research and training coordination. Over a 25 year career Conor has previously led teams in administration and inventory management and has had Market Data Analyst responsibilities for Asset Management, Investment Management and Private Client departments. Conor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University College Cork Ireland in Economics and Applied Psychology.
Hope Wilkes
Program Manager, Professional Certification, FISD
Hope Wilkes is Program Manager, Professional Certification, Financial Information Services Association (FISD) of the SIIA. FISD is the global, neutral forum for the financial information industry with a diverse membership that includes major market data vendors, exchanges, technology providers, and the financial institutions that utilize financial data products. Hope’s role has her managing FISD’s two certification offerings: the Financial Information Associate (FISD FIA) and Data Licensing Specialist (FISD DLS) as well as working closely with members to identify major issues and opportunities to bring the financial information industry together to discuss and resolve those issues. FISD conducts regular membership events in North America, Europe, Asia, Brazil, and Australia and hosts the biennial World Financial Information Conference (WFIC) — the premier global industry conference for financial information professionals. Hope is a current Evening MBA student at Virginia Tech’s National Capital Region campus, a voracious reader, and an avid distance runner with three 50-mile finishes and nearly 20 marathons under her belt.
Andy Young
Global Head of Solutions Sales, Capital Markets, Colt Technology Services Ltd.
Andy heads up the specialist sales team for Colt Capital Markets. He has held a number of client-facing roles since joining Colt in 2003, working with financial services customers across the globe to identify technology strategies to provide the fastest access to liquidity. He started his working life as an FX broker at Harlow Butler before moving into the technology vendor space.
