Elizabeth Pritchard

Elizabeth is Founder of White Rock Data Solutions LLC a consulting firm providing innovative solutions for managing and commercializing data. In 1996, Elizabeth joined Goldman Sachs and held leadership roles across Sales and Trading, Compliance, Middle Office and Treasury for nearly two decades, delivering impact through people, process, data and technology. Elizabeth developed the strategy for and built the first Supervisory Control Function on Wall Street. As Managing Director of the Global Market Data Services team, Elizabeth adopted new data sources and applied data science to vendor content and usage to drive expense efficiencies and developed the firm’s strategy for a centralized data cloud for external content. Elizabeth collaborated with data vendors and principal investing in strategic deals. In 2015, Elizabeth joined AIG as Chief Operating Officer, Science. She was responsible for ensuring improved business outcomes in customer experience, underwriting, and claims.
In 2017, Elizabeth became a founding executive at Crux Informatics, a startup reinventing data delivery in finance. While there, Elizabeth was responsible for Marketing, Sales, and Supplier Partnerships. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University, Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and MBA from Columbia University.

Ciran Ryan is Chief Operating Officer of Eagle Alpha,a multi-faceted role involving the management of all company financials, legal issues, and HR. He has 6 years’ experience working in two-sided marketplaces and start-ups.

Ryan Schreiber

Vice President, Financial Services, Vertical Knowledge

Since joining Vertical Knowledge in 2015, Ryan has worked with VK’s financial services customers in a sales and account management capacity. During that time, VK has grown from 10 financial services clients to over 40. In addition to managing relationships, Ryan has helped expand VK’s presence in the financial services space by building strategic partnerships and expanding marketing efforts. Prior to joining VK, Ryan was an investment banker with KeyBanc Capital Markets at its Cleveland headquarters. Ryan graduated from Middlebury College in 2013.

Ryan is a Cleveland resident, native, and overall fan, especially as it relates to Cleveland’s professional sports team. He is involved with University School where he graduated from high school and also acts as co-captain for a family and friends cycling team, as part of the annual VeloSano ride to support cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic. In his free time Ryan enjoys golfing, time with family and friends, and watching sports.

Lauren Stevens

Senior Vice President, Senior Director, Content and Technology Solutions Strategy
Ms. Lauren K. Stevens is Senior Vice President, Senior Director Strategy for FactSet’s Content and Technology Solutions at FactSet. In this role, she is responsible for analyzing market research and determining the direction of the FactSet content, cloud, and technology strategy. Since joining FactSet in 2006, she has worked as a Consultant until 2008 and then as an Economic Specialist until 2013 when she assumed her current role. Ms. Stevens earned her B.S. in Policy Analysis from Cornell University.

Tracey Shumpert

Vice President of Membership and Programs, FISD

Tracey Shumpert is Vice President of Membership and Progams at FISD, where she seeks to constantly improve the FISD member experience and to broaden the FISD community. She is the program manger for the World Financial Information Conference, the Alternative Data Council, Lunch & Learn and Women’s Group activities.

Prior to FISD Tracey was senior events manager at FIX Trading Community and before that, she held various roles at Bloomberg. Tracey holds a BA in Comparative Literature at Smith College and an MA in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University.

Max Abend

Vice President, PDT Partners

Max Abend is Counsel at PDT Partners, a global investment manager that develops and deploys quantitative, model-driven strategies to trade liquid assets using proprietary technology. At PDT, Max is responsible for, among other things, evaluating legal and compliance risk in connection with datasets used by PDT. Max began his career as a litigator at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York. Max holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from Western Connecticut State University and a JD from the New York University School of Law.

Brooke Bernstein

Legal Director, Quantitative Trading Compliance, Associate General Counsel, Tudor Investment

Brooke joined Tudor in April 2004 and is based in their Stamford, CT office. Prior to her current role, Brooke served as Tudor’s Global Chief Compliance Officer (2004-February 2013) designing and implementing Tudor’s global compliance program and compliance governance framework for offices in the US, UK, Singapore and Australia. Prior to joining Tudor, Brooke (i) was Director and Global COO of Compliance at Credit Suisse First Boston (2002-2004); (ii) served in various legal and compliance positions at Morgan Stanley (1994-2002), including her final role of Executive Director and Global Compliance Operations Officer; and (iii) was a Corporate and Tax Law Attorney at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP (1990-1993). Brooke holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College, Annapolis (1985) and a J.D. from the University of Chicago, The Law School (1990).

Melanie Laufer

Associate, Data and Advanced Analytics, CPP Investments

Melanie Laufer is an Associate at CPP Investments responsible for investing the assets of the CPP Fund with a mandate of achieving a maximum rate of return without undue risk of loss. Melanie works under the Data & Advanced Analytics group supporting primarily quantitative investment teams and projects relating to data requirements and partnerships. Over the last few years, Melanie has developed a focus in Alternative Data, which has also included partnering with legal to create a framework to more efficiently onboard these datasets.

Norman Niemer

Chief Data Scientist, UBS Asset Management, QED

Norman Niemer is the Chief Data Scientist within UBS Asset Management’s Quant & Data Science (QED) team where he delivers data-driven investment insights. He is also responsible for both the business as well as technical aspects of multiple innovation projects that augment human decision makers with machine intelligence. Prior to UBS Asset Management, Norman led the data science efforts at UBS O’Connor, worked as an investment analyst at Caxton Associates and Morgan Stanley and even founded a tech company in high school. Outside of investment management, he has led teams that built data- and AI-based products that won several high profile hackathons including Techcrunch NY, Fintech NY and Mastercard Masters of Code NY. He holds a MS Financial Engineering from Columbia University and a BS in Banking and Finance from Cass Business School (London).
