This is not about business as usual. The markets are not as vibrant as they were 10+ years ago – the search for Alpha and opportunities to succeed requires a new mindset and a new approach to sourcing data. Smart and frictionless – new solutions for ‘Digital Rights Management’

This will be a new take on a very old concern. Around 200 exchanges each with different and complex data policies; a continuing barrage of sometimes aggressive audits; ambiguous terms; and a big dollop of distrust on both sides of the arguments. Yes, more standardisation may be the ultimate answer, but that solution could be a long time coming. Better ways of communicating and administering are the interim solutions. Technical solutions could ride to our rescue e.g. ODRL and Smart Contracts. Will these work? Indeed, how do they work? Can the great minds of our industry design solutions that ameliorate our collective predicament? Let’s hope so!
