Let’s get it done – actions speak louder than words when it comes to The Cloud

The switch from talking to doing is a significant tipping point. Considering both the “Diffusion of Innovations” and the “Product Lifecycle” curves we seem to be fast approaching, the crest of that hill. This discussion will focus on getting things done, a refreshing shift from pontificating about possibilities and ideas. What practical steps should firms take to either put Market Data in the ‘Cloud’ or depending on circumstance fetch it down from the ‘Cloud’. A crucial point to note it is plural steps, not singular step.

Feeding the appetite for limitless compute and data without boundary

New systems are revolutionizing the way data is stored, managed and put to use in the marketplace.  Machine and deep learning using market reference data for stock price prediction is only one example of how new systems can change business.  The removal of IT silos, refreshing aging compute and data infrastructures, on-premises compute, and hybrid cloud models all play a role in enabling these new capabilities. A broader technology ecosystem is needed to provide the right access to the right data and compute at the right times. This presentation will focus on how storage offerings enable a modern data-driven, intelligent infrastructure which is critical to this transformation.

Technology – the perfect partner for Alternative Data

The edge, or officially the Alpha, that can be obtained from Alternative Data is a bit of a gold rush a la mode. However, Alternative Data provides serious challenges as well as those tantalizing opportunities. Technology provides solutions both in creating data sets but also in squeezing meaning and signals out of them. We discuss which technologies, on both the vendor and consumer side, are most effective and how best to leverage them. New programming languages, The Cloud, Visualization, Big Data, AI and Machine Learning all play a part. Data Scientists have been in hot demand – now with the rise of Alternative Data even more so.
