What a Year!

FISD is so grateful for a successful and busy 2023! We had over 40 regional events, the inaugural AsiaFIC conference, gained 50+ new members and launched our Speaker’s Bureau to elevate diverse voices and talent. 2024 is going to be another banner year with the return of AsiaFIC in Singapore in May and WFIC in Austin in September. In addition to our two major conferences, we are planning regional, international issue briefs, alternative data council meetings, Women’s Group and Allies luncheons and Rising Stars meet-ups

All FISD members are invited to nominate candidates to fill 15 positions on the FISD Executive Committee (EC) for two-year terms beginning January 2024. Positions are open for representatives in each of the three FISD constituency areas: exchanges & markets, vendors (data/software/hardware/services), and consumer firms (financial institutions). View the current EC list. Members may nominate themselves.

If you wish to run for the election, please submit one nomination for your company with a single campaign statement covering both executives who will be representing your firm. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, December 8 and the election will run until Friday, January 12. Please contact Tracey Shumpert with any questions.

FISD Toronto

Join FISD on November 9 at TMX in Toronto as we ring in the market close along with a riveting afternoon of panels and presentations. APAC Members: Register for the Last Two Events of 2023!

FISD is closing out the year in the APAC regions with FISD Tokyo on Nov. 28 and FISD Singapore on Nov. 30.

We are honored that the world’s largest pension fund, Japan’s Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) and the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA) will both address our Tokyo meeting outlining the importance of the ESG data sets and Japan’s emerging role in transition finance.

FISD London Engineering Stream

The Engineering Stream is back by popular demand! AWS will host the latest workshop on Oct. 16 in London. We invite those with a robust engineering focus to join us for a day of technical discussions and learning. FISD Rising Stars

FISD Toronto

FISD has a special Toronto event planned on November 9. Join us at TMX for an update on the CSA consultation focused on real-time market data, hear from new entrants to the market data industry, listen to a fireside chat on Term Corra and witness the TMX market close! We’ll follow up with networking and drinks.

FISD Australia

The team has two spring dates in Australia this year. Join us in Melbourne on Oct 24th hosted by IRESS and/or on Sydney on Oct 26th hosted by Google. The discussion will be covering GenAI use cases in the financial data space, Desktop Data Interoperability, and Data and Regulatory Compliance. And, as usual, we will be hosting receptions in both venues for the more informal (but equally valuable) networking discussions.

AsiaFIC Dates Announced

Engineering Stream London Oct 16

FISD continues our Engineering Stream program after highly successful sessions in Prague WFIC 2022, Singapore AsiaFIC May 2023, and NYC June 2023. The next installment will be a full day in London on Monday October 16, graciously hosted by AWS and with a program designed by our co-chairs Simon Clerck of Goldman Sachs and Nigel Phelan of JPM Morgan. This tightly focused program is open to all members but targeted at those with a robust engineering background – conversation will get deeply technical. The day will include discussions on AI (including Large Language Models); Site Reliability Engineering (SRE); and of course, The Cloud! A roaring return for our Pan Asia event – Singapore AsiaFIC May 2023

We could not have wished for a better return to our pan-Asian event. AsiaFIC 2023 taking place May 3 & 4 in Singapore was buoyed by a superb show of faith from our sponsors. Their support enabled us to create a two-day event which attracted nearly 300 registrations. Delegates attended in droves, including a standing-room-only start with the Engineering Stream and concluding with the second of two receptions with spectacular views over Singapore. The program dug deep into a diverse set of market data topics and enabled our APAC community to do some serious networking, including with some delegates who travelled from other regions to attend. Building on the success of AsiaFIC, FISD looks to provide many more member activities in APAC in the months and years to come.

FISD Frankfurt

Coming Soon!!!! Our inaugural FISD Frankfurt event will be hosted at the centrally located Commerzbank tower building with sensational views over the city and beyond, on October 12.This is a limited capacity event, so it’s a first come, first serve registration basis. Our friends from the German IPUG assembly (the local consumer peer group) will be there to join us at our roundtable discussion event.
